Two soldiers in training will, if the court has its way, spend a week in jail and also receive 50 hours of community service. The soldiers are suspected of assaulting a fellow trainee at the General Spoor Barracks in Ermelo. Both suspects, aged 19 and 20, deny the charges. They claim it was a "rough and tumble."
