The KOSPI index rose for the fourth consecutive trading day, reaching the 6,800 mark. Concerns over monetary tightening eased as the U.S. July consumer price index, released the previous night, met expectations, while the positive momentum from the U.S. regarding artificial intelligence (AI) boosted the index. The KOSPI closed at 6,813.34, up 3.56% (234.30 points) from the previous day. It rose 194.88 points (2.96%) to 6,773.9

Asian stocks are mostly positive on Thursday morning in the wake of subdued US inflation data, which has put a lid on expectations of further interest rate hikes from the US central bank, the Federal Reserve, in the near term.
