Ash Announce 30th Anniversary Edition of Debut Album 1977
The reissue adds four bonus tracks and a live 2021 set, while a livestream and international tour mark the album’s 30th anniversary.
- Northern Irish trio Ash announced a 30th anniversary reissue of their debut album 1977 on May 6, alongside an extensive world tour. The band will mark the milestone with a livestreamed concert from Belfast's Oh Yeah Centre tonight.
- The anniversary edition features the original 12-song tracklist plus four additional tracks including long-lost Bittersweet Blue and new versions of Girl From Mars and Gone The Dream. Available formats include double LP EcoRecord Green and Black 'InkPlosion' vinyl, double CD Digisleeve, and digital.
- BBC Introducing's Taylor Johnson will host the livestreamed concert at the Oh Yeah Centre tonight, exploring the stories behind the music. The band launches their 1977 tour in Perth, Australia on September 4, spanning Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
- Pre-Sale tickets begin May 12 with general sale starting May 15. The tour concludes in Ireland in December, featuring performances at the Olympia, Dublin on December 9 and Ulster Hall, Belfast on December 10.
- Originally released in 1996, 1977 became a No 1 hit in the UK and Ireland, featuring tracks like Girl From Mars and Goldfinger. Last September, frontman Tim Wheeler joined Coldplay during Clocks at Wembley Stadium after the band shared a double A-side with Blur's Graham Coxon.
