Asda announces change to all Express stores across the UK

Asda has invested more than £7.5 million to install 1.2 million electronic shelf-edge labels across its Express estate, eliminating manual price changes and freeing staff to serve customers.
Matt Harrison, Asda Express central operations director, called the rollout a 'major milestone' for modernizing stores, while Vusion UK and Ireland chief executive Roy Horgan praised the partnership's impact.
Asda is also trialling shelf-edge availability cameras in five of its larger stores to identify gaps and out-of-stock items, notifying staff for quicker replenishment.
Separately, the supermarket issued a recall for three handbags due to a 'serious chemical risk,' with The Office for Product Safety and Standards warning of excess phthalates.
