British energy giant Shell tripled its net profit in the second quarter of this year, thanks to higher oil prices. It rose to $10.8 billion ($9.4 billion) from $3.6 billion (€3.1 billion) a year earlier. The energy giant's revenue in the second quarter rose 45 percent year-on-year to $96.4 billion (€84 billion).
