Mattel Drops ‘Clueless’ Barbies in Honor of Movie’s 30th Anniversary
SAN DIEGO, JUL 13 – Mattel marks the 30th anniversary of 'Clueless' with limited-edition Cher and Dionne Barbie dolls, each priced around $60 and featuring iconic outfits and accessories.
- Released on July 19, 1995, Mattel unveiled Cher and Dionne Barbie dolls, marking the 30th anniversary.
- Loosely inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma, Clueless influenced its iconic style, with wardrobe and slang like `As if!` and `Totally buggin'` highlighting its legacy.
- Among the anniversary items are American Girl doll outfits and a Polly Pocket compact, with proceeds from each skate rental supporting Girls Inc.
- Malibu Barbie Cafe opened on July 11 at 2137 Pacific Highway, and it has succeeded in its first seven locations, including New York.
- To continue the celebration, the cafe will offer bake and skate events, and Total Betties collectibles are available for pre-order now, shipping later this year.
