As data centers expand, advocates call for regulations on lights
Advocates say simple lighting changes at data centers could cut costs and protect birds, pollinators and night skies as more than 3,000 sites operate nationwide.
The Midwest has more than 600 data centers, with hundreds in development. Light pollution rules would protect migrating birds and nighttime pollinators.
