As cost of youth sports grows, Congress eyes regulation of private equity

Lawmakers are considering the Let Kids Play Act, which would ban junk fees and force some private-equity-backed sports operators to divest assets.

The recently enacted law that restricts large investors from gobbling up single-family homes isn’t the only way some in Congress are trying to keep private equity from pinching family budgets.
