Artist Ohno Becomes Kikuyo Town Pr Ambassador; Lost Both Hands but Continues to Create Art: "I Want to Portray the Kindness of the People of Kikuyo"

Kikuyo Town has appointed Katsuhiko Ohno (81), a poet and painter who lives in the town and has a prosthetic arm, as its PR ambassador. As of August 27th, he is the town's 15th PR ambassador. In 1989, at the age of 45, Ohno lost both his hands in an accident while working on the farm. On his third day in hospital, he held a brush pen fixed to his bandaged elbow and wrote the words "Earthworms."
