Soccer-Arsenal's Ben White Ruled Out for Rest of Season with Knee Injury
Arsenal said the 28-year-old defender has a significant medial knee ligament injury and is being managed for recovery before pre-season.
Arsenal confirmed on Tuesday that defender Ben White will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a significant medial knee ligament injury during Sunday's 1-0 win over West Ham.
White was replaced in the 28th minute by Martín Zubimendi; the 28-year defender has endured recurring fitness issues, including hamstring problems and knee surgery last season.
The defender will miss the Gunners' final two league fixtures against Burnley and Crystal Palace, as well as the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal are already without Jurrien Timber, sidelined two months with a groin problem, leaving Cristhian Mosquera to deputize, though Declan Rice has also operated as emergency right-back.
This injury threatens White's England World Cup prospects after his recent return from a four-year international exile, while Arsenal's medical team focuses on his pre-season recovery.
The right side left at 28 minutes of the game with West Ham and exams confirmed a significant lesion in the medial ligament. Final failure of the Champions League.
