The National Security Department announced the arrest of seven people last Friday evening, including three Mauritanians and four foreigners, on suspicion of attempting to migrate irregularly to the Canary Islands in Spain via the sea. The police briefly posted it on Facebook said that the detainees had been arrested in a house in the Dakhla Zaina district of West Nouakchott State, and the four foreigners were in an irregular situation.
