Police arrest an Arkansas man in the killings of a married couple hiking at Devil’s Den State Park
DEVIL'S DEN STATE PARK, ARKANSAS, JUL 31 – James Andrew McGann, 28, was charged with capital murder after killing a couple in front of their young daughters during a hike, officials said.
- On Wednesday, Arkansas State Police arrested James Andrew McGann, 28, of Springdale, charging him with two counts of capital murder after a dayslong manhunt.
- On Saturday, Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were attacked in front of their daughters at Devil’s Den State Park, police said.
- Authorities released a sketch of a suspect, and the FBI Little Rock field office is assisting, as Katrina Hutchins said they moved to Prairie Grove, Arkansas, about 3 weeks ago.
- With federal assistance, FBI Little Rock field office helped, and Mike Hagar said `Because of their hard work and investigative skill, we were able to take a monster off the streets and bring relief to those two precious girls and the rest of our citizens.`
- Without a disclosed motive, the investigation entered its fifth day Wednesday as authorities continued to seek answers, and Devil’s Den State Park trails remained closed.
