Arrest made for driving while intoxicated
On May 10, 2026, Officer Shipman was conducting stationary patrol in the area of State Highway 289 and State Highway 56 when he observed a black BMW traveling northbound, weaving in and out of traffic and passing other vehicles at a high rate of speed. Officer Shipman activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop; however, the vehicle continued northbound for approximately one mile before eventually coming to a stop.
