Arrest after woman's body discovered in Co Galway
Gardaí are not seeking anyone else as a post-mortem will determine how the woman in her 30s died, officials said.
Garda were called to an emergency residential premises in Clifden on Thursday and discovered the body of a woman in her 30s near the Galway Road.
An adult male in his 30s was arrested under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified and the scene preserved for forensic examination; investigators clarified the incident did not occur inside the Ipas centre.
Garda are following a definite line of enquiry and confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the woman's death.
Results of a post-mortem examination on the woman's body will determine the course of the ongoing investigation into the death.
