On Saturday night, Arkansas State defeated Kennesaw State 17-14 at Centennial Bank Stadium, with quarterback Trey Owens accounting for two touchdowns to lead the Red Wolves.
The Red Wolves scored the last 10 points to overcome the deficit, while the defense stopped the Owls twice on fourth down to set up critical scoring opportunities.
Owens finished 24-of-31 passing for 244 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown pass to receiver Hunter Summers, while running back Solomon Baggett's 12-yard run sealed the win with 1:52 remaining.
Kennesaw State quarterback Rickie Collins passed for 129 yards and added 52 rushing yards, though kicker Daniel Kinney missed a crucial 32-yard field goal with three minutes left.
Now 2-2, Arkansas State travels to Louisiana-Lafayette next Saturday, while Kennesaw State hosts Jacksonville State on October 7.
