Arkansas Man Accused of Kidnapping and Rape of Pregnant Wisconsin Teen Pleads Not Guilty
WISCONSIN, JUL 15 – Gary Day, 40, pleaded not guilty to abducting a pregnant 16-year-old he allegedly met online and is accused of fathering, court records show.
- Gary Day, a 40-year-old Arkansas man, pleaded not guilty to four felony charges in Dodge County Court on July 15, 2025.
- Day faces two counts each of child abduction and child enticement for allegedly kidnapping a pregnant 16-year-old from her Beaver Dam home in February 2025.
- Authorities issued Amber Alerts across multiple states after Day abducted Sophia Franklin, who was five months pregnant and turned 17 in April when found at a Nebraska gas station.
- In April 2025, Day was apprehended at a rest area close to Omaha, Nebraska, and was subsequently extradited to Wisconsin to face charges after court records identified him as the father of the unborn child.
- A jury trial is scheduled to start in September 2025, with a scheduling conference set for October 7 in Dodge County Court for further case proceedings.
