Are there too many cormorants in Alberta? Group studying whether more bird population control needed

Some anglers and conservationists have been concerned that double-crested cormorants are having a serious impact on recovering fish populations and stocked trout ponds, with the Alberta Wildlife Federation launching a citizen science initiative to better understand cormorant populations across the province and whether there needs to be more population control done.
