Apple Plots Expansion Into AI Robots, Home Security and Smart Displays

Recently, Apple’s latest device emerges as a wall-mounted AI hub with a roughly 6-inch screen that controls appliances, handles video calls, and uses AI to navigate apps.
Sources note Siri integration challenges as Gurman reported Apple is testing internal and external LLM models, delaying the device’s 2025 debut.
According to reports, the hub, codenamed J490, will run Charismatic and use proximity sensors to adjust content, with higher-end versions possibly costing $1,000.
Reportedly, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the device will make Apple “a force in the smart home segment,” targeting competition with Amazon and Google.
Looking ahead to its AI lineup, Apple is preparing a tabletop robot for 2027 and smart home security cameras under its Apple Intelligence initiative.
