These Two New iPhone Features Are Coming to iOS 26.3
The iOS 26.3 beta adds notification forwarding to third-party devices and a transfer option to Android, developed with Google due to EU regulations.
- On Monday, Apple released the first iOS 26.3 beta, three days after shipping iOS 26.2, with both developer and public beta programs now available for testers.
- Facing EU rules, Apple moved to increase device cooperation and partnered with Google, which began Android testing last week on Android Canary.
- In Notification settings, Apple describes Notification Forwarding, which sends alerts to one device at a time and excludes the Apple Watch from forwarded notifications.
- The 'Transfer to Android' option in Transfer or Reset iPhone instructs users to place their iPhone near an Android to transfer photos, messages, notes and apps, excluding 'protected items', health data, and Bluetooth devices.
- Because iOS 26.3 is new, beta testers risk bugs and data loss when downgrading to iOS 26.2, so backing up before installation is advised and hidden features may appear later.
