Apple Folds Health and Fitness Into Services, Splits Apple Watch Oversight

Recently, Apple Inc. will move its health and fitness teams under Senior Vice President of Services Eddy Cue as Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams plans to retire later this year.
Since announcing his retirement in July, Williams has transferred oversight of supply chain, operations, AppleCare, and China strategy to Sabih Khan, the new operating chief.
Gurman says the reorganization redistributes responsibilities, naming Craig Federighi to oversee watchOS, John Ternus to lead Apple Watch hardware, and Sumbul Desai to manage Health and Fitness with Jay Blahnik reporting to her.
The shift also signals a strategic push as adding health and fitness to Cue’s portfolio reinforces Apple’s wellness and digital health business growth.
Timing-Wise, Health+ may slip from iOS 26.4 to iOS 27, as the AI assistant features subscription aims for release next year with personalized health guidance.
