The province of Groningen still offers apologies for the lack of a fast internet connection in parts of the rural area. Despite promises in 2016 and (partly lost) millions in subsidies and loans, there are still around 5000 addresses not connected. The costs for this could amount to 50 million euros, the province estimates.
