- On July 22, 2025, the Indian Army received three AH-64E Apache attack helicopters at Hindon Airbase, marking a milestone in its combat aviation modernisation.
- The Indian Army signed a USD 600 million contract for six Apaches in 2020, but the planned May 2024 delivery was delayed over 15 months due to supply chain and geopolitical disruptions.
- Following their landing, the helicopters arrived in an AN-124 transport aircraft and then underwent Joint Receipt Inspection at Hindon.
- Assigned to the 451 Army Aviation Squadron in Jodhpur, raised in March 2024, and are expected to support operations along India’s western border.
