The Progress Party could have given municipalities much greater freedom in snowmobile matters if they had not collaborated with the Labor Party, say the SP and the other bourgeois parties.
A change in the law could open up more snowmobile driving in Norwegian municipalities. This pleases Labour Party politician and motor enthusiast Anniken Refseth.
DEBATE: – For many, snowmobiles are about hiking, cabins, hunting, fishing, woodcutting and ordinary everyday life. The snowmobile should no longer be seen as a problem, but as freedom, a desire to live and practical use of nature, write the representatives of the Storting, Bengt Rune Strifeldt and Morten Stordalen.
The Progress Party and the Labor Party form what they themselves call "an unusual majority" on the proposal for a new motor traffic law. The other parties are reacting strongly to the proposal.
