Another swan has been attacked with a catapult just days into the new year.
The bird was rescued from the River Thames and taken to The Swan Sanctuary in Shepperton for treatment. It has been established the male swan had been shot six times by a catapult. Animal welfare campaigners are lobbying government to make it an offence to carry catapults in public without lawful defence.
