MEPs will vote on a motion of no confidence in Ursula von der Leyen and her European Commission. EP President Roberta Metsola told MEP faction leaders today, DPA reports. MEPs are expected to vote next week at a plenary session in Strasbourg. However, the chances of a vote of no confidence are minimal, writes Brussels-based website Politico.
The EU Commission is accused of intransparency and mismanagement with regard to the Corona policy. If the application is accepted, the Commission would have to resign in a closed manner. However, such a scenario is considered unlikely.
The European Commission of Ursula von der Leyen must submit to the vote on a motion of censure in the European Parliament. According to information from the German Press Agency, Parliament President Roberta Metsola has just informed the group chairmen.
Von der Leyen No-Confidence Vote to Be Held Next Week
The European Parliament could hold a debate next Tuesday, July 8th, followed by a vote on Thursday, July 10th, on the motion of no-confidence against European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, according to Euronews.
