Another Canadian arrested linked to Ryan Wedding case
Rasheed Pascua Hossain faces multiple federal charges including cocaine distribution and money laundering in connection with a drug ring led by fugitive Ryan Wedding, FBI said.
- The FBI reported in a Friday-night post that Rasheed Pascua Hossain, 33-year-old Vancouver man, was captured in Vancouver by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as part of the Ryan Wedding drug ring probe.
- A federal arrest warrant issued on Oct. 28 shows Hossain faces U.S. charges for conspiracy to distribute and export cocaine and to launder money linked to Colombia and the Sinaloa Cartel.
- Authorities allege Hossain accepted payments to suppress posts about Wedding and shared a witness's photo that led to the witness being located and killed; seven other Canadians from Laval, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal and Toronto were also arrested.
- Canadian courts will evaluate any U.S. extradition request for Hossain, while some co-defendants like Bianca Canastillo-Madrid and Tommy Demorizi remain wanted or under separate proceedings.
- Ryan Wedding, the fugitive at the centre of the probe, is on the FBI's Most Wanted list, believed to live in Mexico, with a $15 million reward for his capture.
