Olympic dressage rider Cesar Parra has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for repeatedly abusing horses over a long period of time, one of the harshest penalties ever handed down by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
Due to severe abuse of his horses, Cesar Parra is awarded a record penalty, which is in fact valid for life. Olympian Charlotte Dujardin, on the other hand, takes part in tournaments again.


With an unusually long barrier of 15 years, the world association FEI has documented the US rider Cesar Parra. Reason are according to the FEI violations of the principles of animal welfare. The 62-year-old dressage rider also has to pay a fine of around 16,000 euros as well as the court costs of about 11,000 euros.
