Following outbreaks of Newcastle disease in poultry farms, Brandenburg's Agriculture Minister Hanka Mittelstädt hopes the situation will soon calm down. "The situation is dramatic. But we hope that we can now gradually enter calmer waters so that the wave of infection does not spread to the rest of Germany," said Mittelstädt in Potsdam.
