Animal cruelty charges for man who allegedly beheaded seagull at Jersey Shore

NORTH WILDWOOD, NEW JERSEY, JUL 9 – Franklin Ziegler faces third-degree animal cruelty charges after allegedly beheading a seagull that tried to steal food from his daughter, prosecutors said.

A South Jersey man who is accused of tearing the head off a seagull near a boardwalk theme park was indicted last month on animal cruelty charges, state court records show. Grand jurors indicted Franklin Ziegler, 30, of Cape May, on June 24, roughly a year after North Wildwood police charged him with third-degree animal cruelty offenses.
