The categorical victory of the far right AfD party in the elections in Saxony-Anhalt meant a major change in the political configuration in eastern Germany, former Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu said on Monday, 7 September, for Freedom. He said that the result of 6 September could have effect in the following weeks, when elections will take place in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Pomerania Lower, precisely on 20 September.
