Indonesia Volcano Eruption Cancels Hundreds of Flights in Major Airport Hub
- On Sunday, Indonesia's Anak Krakatau volcano erupted, sending ash clouds up to 50,000 feet high and forcing authorities to cancel all flights at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
- Located in the Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatra, the volcano is known as the 'Child of Krakatau' and has remained on high alert since a 2018 flank collapse triggered a tsunami killing more than 430 people.
