An ecologist is calling for a ban on plastic memorials at Kingston Cemetery.
68-year-old Alison Fure has launched a petition urging the Council to phase out plastic items, including ornaments, flowers and windmills. She says plastic waste is damaging the site’s ecology and that change would bring it in line with other London cemeteries. Kingston Council says it will consider the petition once it closes and remains committed to protecting the cemetery’s habitats.
