Indio police managed to rescue an 18-year-old man who nearly drowned in the irrigation canal near Golf Center Street and 42nd Avenue. It all started when the boy tried to rescue his dog that fell into the dangerous canal. An officer pulled the young man out, who was unconscious and after receiving first aid on the scene, he was transported to Indio Hospital and is in stable condition.
