Alderwoman Zita Pels (Sustainability) has made concrete agreements with eight of the capital's ten largest emitters to reduce their CO2 emissions. Currently, these companies emit the same amount as the entire municipality of Utrecht, but with steam and hydrogen, that amount could be reduced by a third. This has resulted in a unique alliance between the activist GreenLeft alderwoman and port industry leader Kees Noorman.
