According to new research by ABN Amro, Amsterdam is rapidly losing its business hotel guests, as 38 percent less than in 2019 booked overnight stays last year. Tourists do fill out the empty rooms; however, according to the Netherlands Board of Tourism (NBTC), business visitors spend on average twice as much as leisure travelers.
