UNITED STATES, AUG 3 – Amphenol aims to expand its broadband and network infrastructure portfolio with a $10.5 billion purchase, while CommScope seeks to cut $9.4 billion in debt, sources said.
- On Monday, Amphenol Corp. revealed plans to purchase CommScope’s unit specializing in connectivity and cable products in a deal valued at $10.5 billion.
- CommScope plans to sell this division to help lower its $9.4 billion debt and simplify its business, with the transaction anticipated to be finalized sometime during the first six months of 2026.
- Amphenol plans to finance the all-cash acquisition using cash on hand and debt, supported by commitments from J.P. Morgan Securities and Mizuho Bank.
- Amphenol CEO Adam Norwitt said CCS's fiber-optic interconnect solutions are "highly complementary" to their offerings, and CCS is on track for about $3.6 billion in revenue this year.
