People handed in just over 1,600 kilos of fireworks over the past week. This could be done at special government collection points. According to figures from the Ministry of Justice and Security, 528 kilos were received in Zwolle, 342.1 kilos in Amsterdam, 254 kilos in Haarlem, and 179.5 kilos in Leiden.
At a special collection point at Sportpark Voorland in East Amsterdam, residents handed in nearly 350 kilograms of fireworks today. Between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM this afternoon, anyone could hand in (illegal) fireworks without consequences.
