- On Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said a government failing to respect Sanatan Dharma would never regain power at a Swaminarayan sect event in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
- At the 200th-anniversary event, the Shikshapatri was celebrated as a 200-year sacred code containing 212 Sanskrit verses that outline moral and social principles for Swaminarayan Sampradaya followers.
- Shah credited 11 years of the Modi government with initiatives like yoga, Ayurveda, cow protection, pilgrimage site restoration, and the Ram temple rebuilt after more than 550 years.
- Shah said efforts have focused on reviving ancient traditions and promoting holistic well-being while followers of Sanatan traditions organised community reforms and campaigns against vices and addictions inspired by Lord Swaminarayan.
- Shah also pointed to recent legal changes, saying, `Article 370 was removed, Triple talaq was abolished, and a Common Civil Code has been initiated for all religions,` and noted the Swaminarayan Sampradaya’s role in protecting Sanatan values and urging social reforms.
