AMGEN ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER PETER GRIFFITH
Thomas Dittrich will return to Amgen after more than 30 years in finance, and Peter Griffith will stay through January 2027 for the handoff.
On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Amgen announced the retirement of executive vice president and chief financial officer Peter Griffith, naming Thomas Dittrich as his successor.
Dittrich will return to the Thousand Oaks, California-based company as executive vice president on July 1, officially succeeding Griffith as chief financial officer on September 1, 2026.
Bringing more than 30 years of international leadership experience, Dittrich previously served as chief financial officer at Galderma, Shire, and Sulzer.
After serving as the company's chief financial officer since 2020, Griffith will remain with the firm into January 2027 to support a seamless transition.
Chairman and chief executive officer Robert A. Bradway praised Griffith, stating he "strengthened the company's financial foundation" while positioning Amgen to deliver attractive long-term growth.
