Ambrosia Biosciences Announces Preclinical Data Supporting Differentiated Profile of AMB-702, its Novel Small Molecule GLP-1 Receptor Agonist Development Candidate
The candidate produced 12.6% placebo-adjusted mean weight loss after 7 days in a head-to-head study with orforglipron, the company said.
On Friday, Ambrosia Biosciences Inc. announced preclinical data for its development candidate AMB-702 during a poster presentation at the American Diabetes Association's 86th Scientific Sessions.
In a head-to-head comparison, AMB-702 achieved placebo-adjusted mean weight loss of 12.6% after 7 days of daily dosing at 2 mg/kg, compared to 5.4% for a comparator at the same dose.
Patrice Lee, President, cited "superior target coverage over 24 hours" as a key finding, noting that AMB-702 also improved glycemic control and enhanced insulin secretion in mouse models.
Nick Traggis, CEO of Ambrosia, said the company looks forward to "advancing AMB-702 into the clinic early next year" to expand access to cardiometabolic therapies.
Beyond AMB-702, the company's pipeline includes a once-weekly GLP-1 receptor agonist, a GIP receptor antagonist, and an amylin receptor agonist, enabling significant opportunities for combination therapies.
