- Monterey County Sheriff Tina Nieto stated that Galvez Perez is currently concealing the teenager and preventing law enforcement from locating her. The office emphasized that "locating Diana and ensuring her safety" remains a priority.
- Officials addressed questions about the alert's delayed timing, explaining they recently discovered video evidence confirming the pair traveled together in the white Nissan. This discovery provided grounds to activate the statewide search.
