- On Monday, May 4, 2026, Amazon announced the launch of Amazon Supply Chain Services, opening its global logistics network to businesses of all types and sizes.
- Amazon is leveraging infrastructure proven over decades, much like Amazon Web Services did for cloud computing. Peter Larsen, vice president of Amazon Supply Chain Services, stated the company aims to provide businesses access to the same cost efficiency, reliability, and speed built for Amazon customers.
- Supported by more than 80,000 trailers, more than 24,000 intermodal containers, and more than 100 aircraft, the network provides freight, distribution, and fulfillment services with time-sensitive shipments, simplified booking, and customs clearance.
- Competing directly against UPS and FedEx, Amazon has already attracted Proctor and Gamble, 3M, Lands End, and American Eagle Outfitters to use the service for freight, warehousing, and parcel delivery.
- Service offerings span healthcare, automotive, manufacturing, and retail industries. Parcel shipping supports orders from multiple sales channels with two- to five-day delivery speeds and seven-day-a-week service to position inventory closer to demand.
