A contingent of 32 firefighters from the Cávado region, supported by nine vehicles, left Braga this afternoon to assist in fighting the rural fire raging in Cinfães, in the district of Viseu. By 2:30 p.m. today, nearly two thousand firefighters were battling the four largest fires currently raging in mainland Portugal—in Arganil, Sátão, Trancoso, and Cinfães—supported by 641 vehicles and 18 aircraft, according to Civil Protection.
