All injured in deadly North Carolina waterfront bar shooting released from hospitals
Nigel Max Edge faces three murder charges after a shooting that left three dead and six wounded at a North Carolina waterfront bar, authorities said.
- Officials announced Friday that all six hospitalized victims after the Southport, North Carolina shooting have been released; five were initially reported wounded at the American Fish Company before a sixth self-admitted.
- Authorities allege Nigel Max Edge motored to the crowded wharf at the American Fish Company about 9:30 p.m. and opened fire with an AR-style rifle, and Coast Guard officers apprehended him shortly afterward.
- Authorities identified the three people killed as Solomon Banjo, 36, Charlottesville, Virginia; Joy Rogers, 64, Southport, North Carolina; and Michael Durbin, 56, Galena, Ohio.
- Chief Todd Coring, Southport police chief, said officers from across the county will assist Southport to increase presence on the waterfront, while Nigel Max Edge is held without bond pending a probable cause hearing on Oct. 13.
- Prosecutors have charged Nigel Max Edge with three counts of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and assault with a deadly weapon; police say he reported combat injuries and PTSD.
