Gold is declining for the third week in a row.

Gold prices started the new week lower ahead of Wednesday's Federal Reserve interest rate decision. With an ounce of gold trading at around $4,333, markets are focused on the Fed's interest rate decision, as well as US bond yields, oil prices, central bank purchases, and ETF inflows.

Market activity increased ahead of the Fed's interest rate decision this week. Gold and base metals came under pressure as expectations of a rate hike strengthened, while geopolitical risks in the Middle East pushed oil prices higher. Brent crude surpassed $106, and copper saw sharp fluctuations following news of tariff increases.
