Prosecutor Dropping Drug Case Against Olympian Skier Bode Miller
Prosecutors said the case was dismissed after reviewing the facts and finding no drugs on Miller’s person, his attorney said.
On Friday, Fremont County Prosecutor Lindsey Blake announced her office will dismiss misdemeanor drug charges against Olympic skiing legend Bode Miller, concluding a case from a June 6 Idaho traffic stop.
During the June 6 traffic stop, Sheriff's Deputy Jacob Hurt reported finding 4.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in a dispensary bag. Miller denied wrongdoing, claiming the substances belonged to a passenger traveling with him.
Defense attorney Jeromy Stafford confirmed the dismissal, stating "no drugs were found on Bode's person." Blake determined it was "in the interest of justice" to drop charges after receiving information related to an active case.
Greg Feig, 55, was also arrested during the stop and charged with misdemeanor possession. Court documents state Feig admitted to possessing marijuana "in bud form" and a wooden pipe with burnt residue.
The 48-year-old former athlete is the most-decorated American male alpine skier in history, having earned six Olympic medals and 33 World Cup victories before retiring from professional competition in 2017.
