Quantum computing startup Alice & Bob and the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) are launching a joint software development project to enable the use of quantum computers and conventional supercomputers. The project aims to prevent the emergence of a software monopoly similar to Nvidia's CUDA platform.
The race for quantum supremacy is not just a matter of hardware. France has understood it well and has just laid an essential software brick by creating a bridge between the present of supercomputers and the future of quantum processors.
On Thursday, the CEA and Alice & Bob formalize a partnership aimed at integrating quantum technology that is tolerant of the faults of the Parisian company with French supercomputers. A real step on the way to the first industrial uses of quantum computing.
