Alibaba's Damai International Introduces New Label, Launches Global Artist Initiative
The program will recruit aspiring performers worldwide and aims to debut a new international music group.
On Friday, Damai International introduced ORCA , a new artist development and content production label, and launched the worldwide "All My Anecdotes Global Audition" initiative.
President Walter Zheng of Damai International called the program an "important step in our global talent development strategy," leveraging Alibaba Group's ecosystem to discover international performers.
The launch featured a brand trailer starring dancer Audrey Lane, best known as a member of Jam Republic on Mnet's "Street Woman Fighter 2," alongside singer-songwriter DANY.
Auditions are open worldwide from July 3 to Aug 3 with no restrictions on age, gender, or nationality; applicants submit via the All My Anecdotes website or email.
ORCA plans to eventually debut a new international music group drawn from the program, with Daryl Wang, senior vice president of music business at Damai International, stating the label is "about creativity, artistry and thinking beyond borders.
