The French-Algerian writer, whose sentence of five years in prison was confirmed on Tuesday, did not receive the presidential pardon of Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

On Tuesday, the French-Algerian writer was sentenced on appeal by an Algerian court to five years in prison for "damaging national unity". Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune does not seem to have pardoned the writer on the occasion of the Independence Day.
