On 29 January, the Algerian army announced that it had killed three armed Moroccan drug traffickers and arrested a fourth during an ambush near Béchar, on the Algerian-Moroccan border. The operation looks less like an improvised interception than a net shot based on intelligence.
According to the Algerian Ministry of Defence, during the operation, the security forces seized 74 kilograms of cannabis resin.
